She received her MS in Information Studies and MA in Women’s and Gender Studies from the University of Texas at Austin.

Corinne Castro

Corinne Castro is an applied Sociologists and Senior Director for Faculty Development and Diversity within the office of University, Equity and Inclusion at Rutgers University in New Jersey. In this role, she serves as a strategic partner enabling sustainable and scalable attention to the full spectrum of needs of a diverse faculty, such as supporting active faculty recruitment efforts, inclusive mentorship, active support through tenure and promotion, and preparation and support to enter leadership.
Prior to joining Rutgers, Corinne was an Associate Professor of Sociology at Texas Lutheran University. Her research focuses on diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education, specifically the professoriate. She has contributed a chapter to Disrupting the Culture of Silence: Confronting Gender Inequality and Making Change in Higher Education (De Welde et al. 2015), and articles in the American Educational Research Journal and Gender & Society. Corinne is a longtime member of Sociologists for Women in Society and currently serves on Council. She received her PhD in Sociology as well as a graduate certificate in women’s studies from Temple University, and her BA in Sociology from the University of California, Berkeley.

Christopher Bollinger is a Professor of Communication Studies at Texas Lutheran University. His research focuses on violence prevention, applied communication, and the scholarship of teaching and learning. He is the co-editor of Violence Goes to College: The Authoritative Guide to Prevention, Intervention, and Response and Ethnographic Choices: A Primer on Doing Complex Social Research. He received his PhD in Communication Studies from Bowling Green State University and his MS in Human Resource Management from the University of Charleston.

Christina A. Bifulco, EdD is the Associate Director for Teaching & Learning Analytics at the Office of Teaching Evaluation & Assessment Research (OTEAR) at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. Her primary responsibility is supporting instructors, schools, and departments in the development and analysis of meaningful measures that provide actionable data to understand and improve instruction at the university. She has fifteen years of teaching experience in K-12 and higher education. Her research focuses on educational development, assessment of learning, and student perceptions.

Michael Czuchry is a Professor of Psychology at Texas Lutheran University. He loves involving students in research and has co-authored presentations with over 100 TLU students. He has over 25 peer-reviewed publications and loves teaching Introduction to Psychology, Quantitative Methods, History & Systems of Psychology, Personality, Sleeping and Dreaming and a variety of special topics courses. He received his PhD in Experimental Psychology from Texas Christian University, his MA in General Psychology from East Tennessee State University, and his BA in Psychology from Colorado College.

Christopher Drue, PhD is the Associate Director of Teaching Evaluation at the Office of Teaching Evaluation & Assessment Research (OTEAR) at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. He helps schools and departments develop robust, meaningful, and useful methods of evaluating teaching, including peer review of teaching, teaching portfolios, and student feedback. He also reports on teaching effectiveness at Rutgers and supports university-level assessment and accreditation processes. Chris has extensive university teaching experience, primarily in Sociology, Urban & Environmental Studies, and Pedagogy.

Leslie Flores

Leslie Flores is a proud native of the Rio Grande Valley, Texas. She earned her BA in Psychology from Texas Lutheran University (TLU) and her MA in Gender Studies from the University of Leeds. She served as the Director of Title IX Services and Equity Compliance at Texas Lutheran University, leading initiatives to prevent sex discrimination and promote equity in higher education. Previously, as TLU’s Advocacy Coordinator, she facilitated campus-wide sexual violence prevention efforts. In addition to her administrative roles, she taught as an adjunct instructor in the Department of Communications, Cultures, English, and World Languages. Leslie is currently pursuing a PhD in Higher Education Leadership and Policy at the University of Texas at Austin.

Margaret Gonzales

Margaret Gonzales is the Assistant Director of the Nexus for Faculty Success and the Faculty Academic Writing Advisor in the Nexus for Faculty Success at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. She earned her BA in English from the University of Illinois at Chicago where she also completed her MA and PhD in Language, Literacy, and Rhetoric. She began teaching First-Year Writing as a graduate student in 2000. She taught writing at Collin College, a two-year college in North Texas, from 2008-2012 before joining the faculty at Texas Lutheran University (TLU) in Seguin, TX. After ten years as an tenured faculty member in English and Director of Composition Program and Student Communication Center at TLU, she joined the Nexus team in 2023 to help support faculty teaching, scholarship, and leadership. She is deeply invested in researching and sharing teaching processes and practices that focus on developing learners’ agency and sense of belonging in higher ed.

Rodrick M. Shao

Rodrick M. Shao is an Associate Professor and Instructional Technologist who teaches information systems and is the Center for Teaching and Learning director at Texas Lutheran University. He received his MBA in International Marketing from Concordia University Wisconsin and his EdD in Instructional Technology and Distance Education from NovaSoutheastern University in Florida. His research interest is on faculty concerns about and perceptions of adopting technology for instructions, and he enjoys collaborating with educators in the instructional design process. He is passionate about advocating for the lives of the children in Tanzania through the Bishop Martin Shao Foundation in Tanzania.

Tiffiny L. Sia

Tiffiny Sia is a Professor of Psychology at Texas Lutheran University. Teaching is a career she began after losing her vision in 2003. She holds the Lillie Krause Professorship in Social Sciences, is a Minnie Stevens Piper Professor, and was awarded TLU’s Outstanding Teaching Award. She has published over 20 articles and presents regularly at the Southwestern Psychology Association conference. She has co-authored over 90 professional presentations with 65 undergraduate students at regional conferences. She earned her PhD and Master’s in experimental psychology from Texas Christian University in 1996 and 1993, respectively. She received her BA from Linfield College in 1990. She pursues teaching as a way to become a better person, and make the world a better place.
