The introduction of Pedagogical Partnerships opens with an acknowledgment that pedagogical partnerships are developing at a range of institutions in Aotearoa New Zealand, Australia, Canada, England, Israel, Italy, Malaysia, Scotland, Sweden, and the United States. It offers an overview of what pedagogical partnership has to offer, noting ways that partnership can support faculty, students, program directors, and institutions in their growth and development. It identifies the audience for the book and how each constituency to whom the book is primarily addressed—faculty, students, and directors of pedagogical partnership programs—might read the book, and it introduces the authors. Noting that the guide addresses how to develop classroom-focused and curriculum-focused partnerships, specifically those modeled on Students as Learners and Teachers (SaLT) developed at Bryn Mawr and Haverford Colleges, the introduction concludes with an explanation of how the guide is organized, both the chapters in the main text and the additional online resources.
